Established web platform for fund management, portfolio curation, and tax report preparation, using embedded Excel templates to generate PDF reports from structured data.
Understanding the Problem
The existing tax reporting tool had replaced manual Excel workflows but remained functionally incomplete and technically inefficient. It lacked support for complex and special fund structures, reusable fund logic, and proper user management, limiting its applicability in real-world private equity scenarios. At the same time, an overly complex code architecture slowed development, while the continued reliance on embedded Excel-based output generation restricted flexibility and performance.
The Solution
We completed and re-architected the platform into a scalable tax reporting system capable of handling complex fund structures and reusable fund mirroring. By replacing the embedded Excel package with a new HTML-based rendering and PDF engine, we significantly improved flexibility and document generation speed. We also simplified the codebase and migrated the system to the client’s in-house cloud, increasing operational efficiency and reducing maintenance overhead.
