Resource Booking Operator
Resource Booking Operator enables control of cloud instances using Kubernetes Custom Resources. It allows users to use their infrastructure in a cost-effective way, by only using resources for a specific period of time.

Understanding the Problem
The client managed cloud resources and part of them were started only to run scripts and be stopped when not in use. They were looking for a way to streamline that process and, as a result, cut costs. The client also needed a simpler user interface than server consoles, which would allow easier onboarding of developer teams, avoiding the possibility of conflicts and misconfiguration.
The Solution
What started as a small Rails server was later rewritten as a custom Kubernetes operator. This was not only a better fit for the client—given their extensive experience managing Kubernetes—but also provided an additional interface for managing their instances using technology they were already familiar with. For us, it was a perfect opportunity to demonstrate our expertise in the field and open the code to the public.
